The Cascading foot bath for soaking your feet! |
Sembawang hot spring ..
is one of the few natural hot spring in Singapore! Yes Singapore has a natural hot spring and more than 1!
However, Sembawang hot spring is the only publicly accessible hot spring on mainland Singapore. The other hot spring is located on Pulau Tekong which is not open to the public.
My visit to the hot spring was right after the renovation in 2020. The place was nicely renovated and it was quite crowded.Park opening time:
The park is open daily from 7 am to 7 pm
How to get there:
The place is not really close to any MRT so you have to either walk or take a bus there.
- Option 1: Take the north south line MRT to Canberra station, walk about 1.5km (20-30min)
- Option 2: Alight at Yishun MRT, take bus 856, 859 from Yishun interchange and alight 5 stops after at Jln Kemuning, walk 450m.
What to do there:
There are a few unique activities that you can experience there at the hot spring.
- Soak your feet!
The main attraction is the cascading foot bath. Hot spring water emerges at the top and cools as it flows down four tiers of pools, allowing you to find a comfortable temperature to soak your feet and relax. You can sit at the edge or bring your own bucket for a more personal soak. - Cook your own hot spring eggs
Bring your own eggs and containers to the dedicated egg cooking station. The 70°C hot spring water can make a soft-boil eggs in about 20 minutes and hard-boil them in around 30 minutes. It's a fun DIY experience!
Do note that it is limited to cooking eggs, no meats due to hygienic reasons. - Learn about the hot spring:
Explore the educational zone with interactive features that teach about the geology of hot springs and the water cycle, making it engaging for both adults and children.
Really hot and photogenic |
The egg cooking station is separated from the foot bath area.. Remember to bring your own towel, and if you plan to cook eggs, bring your own eggs and cooking containers. |
