Exploring Sungei Buloh Wetland Singapore
I have visited Sungei Buloh Wetland reserve several times especially during the COVID period.
it is a nice place for wildlife and a hike to getaway from the city.
There are also a few trails that you can visit, no worries, they are quite easy to complete and you can also complete all of the trails in half a day.
Do note that the place is quite a distance away but still accessible by Public Transport.
How to get there?
By Public transport
Nearest MRT: Kranji MRT
Take MRT to Kranji MRT and Take Bus 925M.
It takes about 16-20min by bus from Kranji MRT.
By Car
If you are driving, there are free parking at the Wetland itself!
Tips for your visit:
- Bring sunscreens, hats, water and insect repellent!
- For birdwatching, the best time to visit is during the migratory season (September to March).
- Always stay on designated paths, do not approach, provoke, or feed any animals. Remember, these are wild creatures in their natural habitat.
There are alot of different wildlife here!
From different type of birds to Crocodiles!
Sungei Buloh is arguably most famous as a stopover point for migratory birds, making it a dream come true for birdwatchers.
During the migratory season (roughly September to March), you can witness thousands of shorebirds, waders, and other feathered visitors that have travelled from as far as Siberia!
Even outside of this period, the reserve is home to a diverse array of resident birds like herons, kingfishers, and sunbirds, whose calls fill the air.
One of the most famous wildlife is the Estuarine Crocodiles.
It is often spotted near the mangrove.
Take it easy and slow, you may spot one near you!
