Spending a day at Singapore Zoo and River Wonders
Some where during Covid period after some of the covid rules were removed, we visited the Singapore Zoo and river wonders.
It has been quite some time since the last time we visited, so went there to see what changed and just nice we have complimentary tickets.
The Zoo, River Wonders and Night safari (Mandai Wildlife) are all located quite a distance away from the bustling city area. and Now in 2025, bird paradise (bird park) is also relocated here in Mandai, however it will be too rush to visit all 4 parks in a day, so it would be good to choose based on your priority or schedule at least 2 full days.
How to get to Mandai wildlife by public transport?
The place is not directly accessible by MRT, you will have to change to bus from one of the MRT station.
- The nearest mrt from city area will be either from Ang Mo Kio MRT (north south line Red), or Springleaf MRT (Thomson east coast line Brown) , and take bus 138 directly to Mandai Wildlife.
- Mandai wildlife also provide shuttle services from town area like Orchard at a fee, do check the details and schedule first!
My experience at the Zoo and River Wonder:
I would say i like the Zoo more than river wonder, because i feel that there are more animals in the zoo. but that is depends on individuals.
But on the other hand, river wonder is mostly sheltered and cooler, it would be a nicer experience under the Singapore heat.
Here are some photos taken in the Zoo and River Wonder:

Explore An Izakaya with Torii gate
At the end of the day, we visited an izakaya for dinner to end the day.
It is located in SAF Yatch club, very ulu place, but we went there for the view and the Torii gate!
Name: Ku Kai Izakaya
Address: 43 Admiralty Rd W, Singapore 759962
would recommend to make reservation in advance especially if you are going on weekends.
Most of the sitting are outdoor without air-con ~
